Redevelopment of a formerly blighted industrial site

During the last decade, a series of significant investment projects have transformed a formerly blighted industrial site in New Albany, IN. Today, the neighborhood continues to evolve with new retail and residential opportunities. These projects will generate hundreds of construction jobs and support the implementation of downtown’s residential strategy.

One project, Quackenbush Square, will help strengthen the connection between downtown Albany and Clinton Square, while supporting the nearby business community. The 132-room hotel will generate more than $6 million in annual revenues. This hotel will also provide support to nearby attractions, including the Albany Playdium Bowling Center, Silver Street Park, and Huck Finn’s Warehouse.

Another project, 420 Broadway, will transform the upper floors of the building into market-rate apartments. The renovation will preserve Coulson’s News and Deli on the first floor.
