The Sound of Music

“The Sound of Music” is one of the greatest musicals ever written. Set in the 1930s Austria, this story of love and hope is both uplifting and inspiring. While the story is set in the past, the show is also relevant to the present, highlighting the Nazi takeover of Austria and the outside forces that affect a country. “The Sound of Music” is produced by Concord Theatricals and the Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization. There is something for everyone to enjoy, from the catchy tunes to the beautiful dance numbers.

The Sound of Music at Iroquoia Amphitheater Louisville KY is presented by the Louisville Orchestra. The show is free and will feature the world-renowned LARA DOWNES, who was named 2022 Classical Woman of the Year by Performance Today. She has topped the Billboard charts as both a recording artist and a producer. She will perform the popular George Gershwin song “Rhapsody in Blue.”

This production is part of a series called Arts at the Amphitheater. It features roles for children and adults. Last year, “The Wizard of Oz” was put on by the production company. This event brought live performances back to the Iroquois Amphitheater, where demand for tickets skyrocketed. “The Sound of Music” will be performed July 15 through 19 and “13: The Musical” will take the stage in November. Free summer movie series

For a fun night out with friends or family, try the free summer movie series at the Iroquois Amphitheater in Louisville. The free event begins at 8 p.m. and doors open at 7 pm. It’s open to the public, but bring a blanket or chair and food and drink if you wish. Alcohol is not allowed outside, but it’s allowed inside. This outdoor event is subject to weather conditions and will be cancelled if it rains.

In addition to the summer movie series, the Amphitheater is also hosting a Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular. The annual event is celebrating its 10th year with a theme of “fan favorites.” On April 26, Modest Mouse headlines the show.

Other events happening at the amphitheater include: the 40th anniversary screening of E.T.; and the annual Kentucky Classic horse race. There’s also an observation deck with an open bar. The Iroquois Amphitheater is a great place for outdoor enthusiasts to go for a fun family outing, whether it’s for a concert or a movie.

The Jack O’ Lantern Spectacular

The Jack O’ Lantern Spectaucular at Iroquois Amphitheatre Louisville KY opens Tuesday, October 4, and runs through Monday, October 31. Tickets for the event start at $4.75 and can be purchased online or at the box office, which is open from 5:30pm to 10pm Sunday through Thursday, and 5:30pm to 11:30pm on weekends. You’ll need to have a valid parking permit in order to enter the venue. The Spectacular will be in full swing for the full moon on Tuesday, so be sure to get there early!

You’ll be surrounded by 5,000 carved pumpkins during the Halloween event, and it’s one of the highlights of Halloween in Kentuckiana. While the festivities are held throughout the city, they are best experienced on a weekday. On weekends, the event is busier and more crowded.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly event, head to the Louisville Jack O’Lantern Spectacular, a nighttime illumination of 5,000 pumpkins in Iroquois Park. The event benefits the Louisville Metro Parks Foundation. There are plenty of activities for the whole family. Guests are encouraged to stroll through the lighted, carved pumpkins, and take in the beautiful sights and sounds of the nighttime sky.
